CARICOM leaders cooperating on health and medical care

Caribbean leaders have met with their South Korean counterparts to discuss cooperation on health and medical care as well as food security in the post-coronavirus era.

During the 10th High-Level Forum on the Korea-Caribbean Partnership, South Korea’s First Vice Foreign Minister voiced hope for his country and those in the Caribbean to develop a comprehensive partnership on the back of their cooperation this year in responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.

CARICOM Secretary General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque highlighted the challenges brought on by the pandemic, noting the CARICOM region is the worst hit economically amongst all developing countries.

He says countries are working tirelessly and collectively to ensure the safety of citizens and protection of their economies.
