Savannah Hotel workers protest non-payment of severance

Workers at the Savannah Hotel are asking for government’s intervention into a matter involving the non-payment of severance by the said hotel.

On Monday morning more than 50 disgruntled workers gathered outside the Christ Church property after they received a letter from management advising workers to refer their severance claims to the National Insurance Scheme.

Frustrated hotel workers say they have been deceived by management.

Over the weekend Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley made it clear that employers will not be allowed to exploit Barbadian workers however, with bills due, mouths to feed and Christmas swiftly approaching.

The hotel workers are demanding government’s intervention.
