Barbados records 25 new COVID-19 cases

Barbados recorded 25 new cases of COVID-19, of which there were 11 males and 14 females, on Saturday, September 10, out of 302 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of that number, there were four people under the age of 18, and 21 who were 18 years and older. There are now 51 individuals in isolation facilities and 458 in home isolation.

No deaths were recorded, and the number of people who died from the viral illness remains at 556.

To date the public health laboratory has carried out 759, 531 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101, 875 cases (46, 076 males and 55, 799 females) of COVID-19. Under the National Vaccination Programme for the virus, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163, 429 (71.6 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of individuals who are fully vaccinated is 154, 487 (57.0 per cent of the total population, or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those people who are 12 years and older.
