A new COVID-19 Directive has been issued for Barbados.

It takes effect from this Tuesday 16 August 2022 and expires on Tuesday 30 August 2022.

The document contains many of the existing measures from the previous directive, such as the requirement to wear masks on public transport and in public buildings.

It states that hand sanitizing stations may still be provided at points of entry in businesses, establishments and organizations.

Any person who contravenes any provision of the Directive or fails to comply with any protocol specified by the Chief Medical Officer or the Covid-19 Unit is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $50 000 or imprisonment for a term of one year or to both.
