Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and President of Rwanda Paul Kagame are celebrating the growing relationship between the two countries with the opening of Barbados’ Honorary Consulate in the African country.
Ms. Mottley, on an official visit to Rwanda, was present for the official opening of the consulate in the capital city, Kigali, this week.
Prime Minister Mottley’s message to Rwandans was they are welcome to Barbados and have a home in the Americas, and she was looking forward to having a Rwandan delegation next year.
Host, President Kagame voiced his support to improving linkages between his country and the mother continent Africa with Barbados and the Caribbean.
He sees the new Barbados Honorary Consulate in Rwanda as vital to connecting Bridgetown and Kigali, as the relationship with the island must be accelerated.
