“EPIC FAIL!”
That was the description given by the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, after Barbadian National Hero, The Right Excellent Robyn Rihanna Fenty, performed at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show.
Trump took to Truth Social, the Twitter alternative founded by his Trump Media and Technology Group in 2021, to let his views on the superstar be known:
EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language. Also, so much for her ‘Stylist!’
This follows years of negative exchanges between the two, with Rihanna making her views on the former president clear on numerous occasions.
She sent his team a cease-and-desist letter in 2018, after her hit song “Don’t Stop the Music,” was played at one of his weekend rallies. She followed that up in 2019 in response to discussions about shootings and mental illness by saying, “the most mentally ill human being in America right now seems to be the president”.
