19-year-old Kyrique Alleyne is the winner of Baje to the World season 3.
Alleyne claimed the top prize from a field of 10 contestants in the competition held at the Garfield Sobers gymnasium last night.
Each finalist performed twice, with at least one of their song choices being from the soca genre.
The eventual winner appearing at position number nine, performed Tarrus Riley’s “Just The Way You Are”, before returning in the second half with a soca medley.
Those performances earned him a cash prize of 20 thousand dollars, a production deal and a tour with Trinidadian soca artist, Destra, who graced the stage last night.
Kymani Devonish, performing under the sobriquet, “The Showman”, claimed the second prize, while third place went to Shaquan Smith.
