129 new COVID-19 cases recorded

There were 129 new COVID-19 cases, 59 males and 70 females, recorded on Wednesday, June 8th, from the 690 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consist of 29 people under the age of 18, and 100 who are 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 35, while 1,230 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 692,308 tests since February 2020, and recorded 81,929 COVID-19 cases (37,355 males and 44,574 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 162,521 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated people is 152,970 (56.4 per cent of the total population or 67 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
