183 new cases of COVID-19 recorded; 1075 in isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 183 new cases – 89 males and 94 females – of COVID-19 on Friday, October 1st out of the 2,199 tests conducted.

Of the positive cases, 34 people are under 18 years, and the other 149 are age 18 and older.

There are 1,075 people in isolation.

Since March 2020, Barbados has recorded 8,792 confirmed cases (4,312 males and 4,480 females) of COVID-19, and 78 deaths.

The public health laboratory has performed 322,476 tests.

To date, 137,138 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19.

The number of individuals who have received their second dose has moved to 106, 679. This figure represents 39.4% of the population who are now fully vaccinated against the virus.
