Barbados has two new CARICOM Youth Ambassadors – Ashley Lashley and Shakeem Howell.
The two youth advocates, who are known for their work, will serve in the role until July 2024.
Ms. Lashley, the founder of the Hey Campaign and a former Miss World Barbados is excited about her new role.
She told Mornin’ Barbados she will work to ensure policymakers and stakeholders address issues that face young people in Barbados and the Caribbean.
Mr. Howell, who is a member of the Barbados National Youth Parliament, says he is taking his role as a CARICOM Youth Ambassador seriously.
He intends to seek the position of Vice Dean of Information and Communication in the programme.
