For a 2nd day, Barbados has recorded 26 new cases of COVID-19.
The cases – 14 males and 12 females – were diagnosed by the Best-dos Santos Public Health laboratory out of the 1,301 tests carried out on Tuesday, August 24th.
There are currently 176 people in isolation.
Since March 2020, 4,720 confirmed cases of the virus (2,303 females and 2,417 males) have been recorded. 48 lives have been lost to the viral illness.
The public health laboratory has conducted 252,611 tests, since February last year.
As part of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 104,678 people have received first doses of the vaccines.
Additionally, 92,025 second doses have also been administered. Those individuals who are fully vaccinated represent 34% of the population.
