A total of 407 new COVID-19 cases – 193 males and 214 females – were identified on Thursday, January 6th, from the 1,949 tests carried out by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The positive cases consist of 58 people under the age of 18, and 349 who are 18 years and older.
Patients in isolation facilities numbered 176, while 2,394 were in home isolation.
The public health laboratory has carried out 482,154 tests since February 2020, and recorded 31,004 COVID-19 cases (14,585 males and 16,419 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 156,150 (68.4 per cent of the eligible population).
The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 143,919 (53.1 per cent of the total population or 63 per cent of the eligible population).
The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
