50% of population fully vaccinated against COVID-19

50% of the total population of Barbados or 135,475 people are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This figure represents 59% of the eligible population – those who are 12 years and older.

The total number of people with at least one dose is 153,165 (67.1 per cent of the eligible population).

Meanwhile, a total of 198 people – 89 males and 109 females – were diagnosed as COVID-19 positive by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Tuesday, November 23rd, out of the 1,610 tests done.

Of the new cases, 41 people are under the age of 18, and 157 are 18 years and older.

There were 635 people in isolation facilities, and 7,125 in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 429,377 tests since February last year, and recorded 24,432 cases (11,672 males and 12,760 females) of COVID-19.
