A total of 608 people (244 males and 364 females) tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, August 8th, from the 1,655 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

The cases consist of 73 people under the age of 18, and 535 who are 18 years and older.

There were 67 people in isolation facilities, while 3,406 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has conducted 737,757 tests since February 2020, and recorded 95,876 COVID-19 cases (43,431 males and 52,445 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 163,008 (71.4 per cent of the eligible population).  

The total number of fully vaccinated people is 154,109 (56.9 per cent of the total population or 67.5 per cent of the eligible population).
