A total of 96 people – 45 females and 51 males – were identified as COVID-19 positive on Thursday, December 23rd, from among the 1,059 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Of these, 14 people are under the age of 18, while 82 are 18 years and older.

There were 121 people in isolation facilities, while 850 were in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 463,844 tests since February last year, and recorded 27,582 cases (13,115 males and 14,467 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of people with at least one dose is 155,491 (68.1 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 142,815 (52.7 per cent of the total population or 62.5 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older.
