A 25-year-old man lost his life on our roads today.
He is Zakie Willams, a Vincentian national of Rock Hall, St Philip.
Police said that the road traffic fatality occurred about 4 pm today, Saturday 19 February 2022, along Rices Main Road at its junction with Cave Land Road, St Philip.
Public Relations Officer with the Service, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, provided the following details:
He was travelling on the back tray section of G 4991 a Toyota Hilux.
The vehicle was travelling along Cave Land Road, before it was involved in a collision with the truck XB 1273. The truck was travelling in an easterly direction along Rices Main Road, St Philip.
The now-deceased received injuries after he was thrown onto the wall of the Rices Pavillion. He was transported by ambulance to the QEH. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
This is the fourth fatality resulting from three collisions for the year 2022. Police continue their investigations into this accident.
