The all-clear has been given for normal activities to resume in the area of the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) in Two Mile Hill, St. Michael.
This after the discovery of a suspicious package in a bathroom at the LESC on Wednesday afternoon prompted a police response.
A command centre was set up in the vicinity of the iMart building and all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the JTC Ramsay (Bussa) roundabout and the Howell Road junction with Two Mile Hill Road was diverted, causing traffic delays.
In an update provided moments ago, Police Communications and Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Rodney Inniss said the suspicious package was “located, identified, checked, and neutralised”. He went on to note there was no explosion nor was the package considered to be an explosive device.
Inspector Inniss says the package is in the possession of the police for further investigation.
The roadway, building and the surroundings have also been thoroughly checked.
