Health officials are investigating another suspected case of monkeypox in Barbados.
Minister of Health and Wellness Ian Gooding-Edghill told CBC News the individual has a travel history and presented last night.
He says the Ministry is working on the clinical assessment and will provide further updates in keeping with transparency.
As to the previous suspected case, that’s negative, along with two samples previously sent to CARPHA.
The Best-dos Santos Lab now has the capacity to test for monkeypox.
Health officials say this is part of the building out of the Lab’s capacity to do various types of testing.
