The Democratic Labour Party has lost one its young politicians.
Dr. Dawn-Marie Armstrong has bowed out of elective politics.
The 34 year old sports psychologist, who came to national attention during the 2022 general elections with her fiery and sometimes controversial speeches, took to social media to announce her decision.
She wrote that after weeks of deep and thoughtful reflection, she decided to focus on more charitable initiatives while perusing opportunities as an academic beyond Barbados’ shores.
Speaking to CBC News, Dr. Armstrong said she was initially choosing to stay.
