The Confucius Institute at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill is bolstering the Barbados Language Centre’s ability to expand its Mandarin programme.
The Institute presented books and gifts to the Language Centre at the Barbados Community College. They were received by the Centre’s Director Paul Blackman.
The presentation was made as students from the BCC completed a pilot elective in Mandarin Chinese offered in conjunction with the Confucius Institute.
Co-Director of the Confucius Institute David Bulbulia says he looks forward to the continued expansion of the Mandarin programme. He revealed discussions are ongoing to facilitate evening classes in time for the next academic year.
