Barbados records first murder for 2022

Barbados has recorded the first murder for 2022.

A fatal shooting occurred about 8:50 pm on Saturday 5 February 2022, at 2nd Avenue Skeete’s Road, The Ivy, St Michael.

25-year-old Shaquon Stanford was shot dead during that incident.

Police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, gave the following details on that incident:

The now deceased was sitting on the step outside his residence using his cellphone when he was approached by a lone gunman who opened fire -several shots were fired.

Stanford received injuries to his buttocks and his upper torso. He was transported to the QEH by private motorcar. He later died whilst receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile the assailant ran away.

Police investigations are ongoing.
