Barbados has joined with the majority of countries globally in support of a United Nation Resolution calling for comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
The Resolution put forward by Germany was adopted on Thursday with 141 votes in favour and 32 abstentions.
12 CARICOM states in total supported the Resolution.
Six countries, Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea, Mali, Nicaragua and Syria joined Russia to vote no.
The UN demands the Russian Federation immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all of its military forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and called for a cessation of hostilities.
Ukraine says the vote made it clear that Russia must end its illegal aggression and that Ukraine’s territorial integrity must be restored.
