Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has described the outbreak of violence in the Caribbean as unacceptable, warning the region will see more of it if states allow people to desensitise the issue of violence.
She was speaking in a virtual address to the ongoing 7th biennial conference of the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers being held in St. Lucia.
Prime Minister Mottley says heads of government have agreed it’s a public health disease, noting the psyche of people must change.
She says small societies like ours cannot withstand the rate of recidivism.
