The security mandate of the Barbados Defence Force has expanded to protecting Barbadians against all threats, including COVID-19.
Principal Staff Officer Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Lovell revealed the BDF is responsible for a number of critical aspects of the island’s COVID-19 management.
Speaking on CBC’s Morning Report he said the army as a consequence has evolved into a multi-dimensional, flexible and highly adaptable organization.
In providing an update on the testing within the force and the level of vaccination, Lieutenant Colonel Lovell said testing is done based on the level of exposure and the majority of officers have been vaccinated.
