Beware going to mass gathering events on Old Year’s night, tonight and New Year’s day tomorrow.
The word of caution is coming from the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners in light of detection of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Omicron variant here in Barbados.
Giving her take on the situation on the Morning Report, Acting President Dr. Adanna Grandison is urging Barbadians to be extra vigilant and double down on following the protocols when heading out to parties and fetes, as there’s the potential for these events to be super spreaders.
Meanwhile Dr. Grandison is confident the Ministry of Health will be able to handle political meetings and any gatherings associated with the upcoming general election.
However, she’s hoping campaigning will be pre-dominantly virtual.
