Fresh consideration being given to introducing residential inspections by the Barbados Fire Service to help quell the surge in blazes destroying homes across the country.
Scores of people have been left homeless, while others have lost their lives in a few cases in recent months.
Now the idea is still in the concept stage according to Senior Fire and Life Safety Officer Andrew Taylor who’s been speaking exclusively to CBC News about the most recent fire statistics.
In relation the fire statistics there’s some good news.
It appears grass fires are somewhat fizzling out.
However house fires continue to be a cause for concern for officials.
