Barbadians are set to save big on purchases of electric vehicles from April 1st.
The assessment is coming from renewable energy advocate, Aidan Rogers.
He’s been reacting to Prime Minister, Mia Amor Mottley’s Budget presentation, where she announced an Excise Tax and VAT holiday on electric vehicles for 24 months commencing the start of next month, a reduction of rates in the Customs tariff and an increase in the loan limit to $100,000 for public servants purchasing electric or alternate fuelled vehicles.
The former President of the Barbados Renewable Energy Association predicts the savings will be in the tens of thousands.
