The Fair Trading Commission has not approved the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited’s request for an 8.79% increase in electricity rates.
The decision was revealed during a press conference moments ago by CEO of the FTC Dr. Marsha Atherley-Ikechi at the Commission’s Green Hill offices.
However, Barbadians will still have to wait a month to find out the final rates.
According to reports, the BL&P will have to resubmit information under a compliance filing, and a new revenue requirement.
Until the final rate is decided, the interim rates announced In September 2022 will continue.
