Residents and businesses in parts of St. Michael and Christ Church are being told to brace for low water pressure or outages tomorrow, Sunday February 5.
This as the Barbados Water Authority says the Pumping Station which supplies them with water will be taken offline between 9:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m. to facilitate emergency electrical maintenance.
In a release, the BWA says it is putting measures in place to mitigate against widespread outages, however, in the unlikely event that there are outages or low pressure, customers in the following areas are advised to store some water to use during the period of work in case they are affected.
The areas include St. Michael and Christ Church districts stretching from Codrington junction in St. Michael to Carter’s Gap in Christ Church, including all of Bridgetown and Collymore Rock in St. Michael to Vauxhall in Christ Church including the Fort George and Sheraton areas.
The BWA says water tankers will be dispatched to assist customers as a temporary measure if necessary, and apologises for any inconvenience the emergency work may cause.
