BWA to conduct urgent repairs at Belle Pumping Station

April 8th, 2022

The Barbados Water Authority is advising the public that over the period Tuesday, April 12th to Thursday, April 14th, 2022 it will be conducting urgent repair work at the Belle Pumping Station in St. Michael.

As a result, customers in several St. Michael and Christ Church districts will be affected.

Areas to be impacted stretch from Codrington junction in St. Michael to Carter’s Gap in Christ Church and include all of Bridgetown.

In order for BWA crews to conduct the repairs, the Belle Station will be taken offline between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon, and then between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. each day.

The BWA says water tankers will be dispatched to assist customers in all affected areas, but warns that due to high demand there may be delays and strongly encourages customers to store water to assist during the periods of work.

The Water Authority says the urgent work is part of its maintenance programme to ensure a continued supply of water is available for its customers.

The areas which will be affected are shown below:
