More than 5, 000 of the most vulnerable households in Barbados will get the gift of food this Christmas.
The World Food Programme’s (WFP) office in Barbados is leading the effort.
WFP’s Barbados Representative and Country Director, Regis Chapman explains they bought a limited number of food kits to distribute basic necessities across the region in the event of a natural disaster.
However, since there has been no major event this hurricane season, they have decided to support the people of Barbados.
Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Kirk Humphrey says the donation will make a huge difference to the needy.
