Government’s strategy to engage with communities around the island and educate them about COVID-19 has already reaped some benefits.
This is according to Public Health Consultant in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Arlene Husbands
She spoke as a team from the ‘Mission Critical: Saving Lives’ project visited Wellington Street, the City.
Ms. Husbands says residents have been receptive to the information and are already changing their behaviour.
The project is a collaboration between the private sector, the Ministry of Health and the University of the West Indies.
Students from the Cave Hill Campus will be engaged in data collection, as well as public education.
Ms. Husbands says the team has been successful thus far in handling the issue of misinformation.
