One of Barbados’ oldest indigenous companies has no plans of selling out its majority interest any time in the foreseeable future, as some other large local companies have done over the years.
The reassurance has come from Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) Anthony Ali.
This as the family-owned company prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary of operation in Barbados.
GEL, a publicly listed company, has been able to establish itself in several new markets over the last century, now operating in 25 countries not just here in the Caribbean, but also in South and Central America.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the conglomerate’s Haggatt Hall, St. Michael headquarters.
As part of its anniversary activities, Goddard Enterprises Limited will be engaging in two major projects aimed at building entrepreneurship and giving back to the community. The first is an entrepreneur award competition.
The second major anniversary project will see Goddard engaging in a public-private partnership with Government to renovate a section of the Parkinson School to the tune of a million dollars.
