A Barbadian living abroad is doing his part to ensure more citizens have access to technology.

Mikhail Smith, an electrical engineer residing in the United States, recently presented the National Library Service with 10 computers at its Fairchild Street headquarters.

The donation was made possible through his I Give Because I Can Campaign.

He says by his actions, he hopes to encourage others to give back to the community.

The donation was accepted by Acting Deputy Director of the Library Service, Beverley Archer, and Data Processing Manager, Emmerton Banfield.

Ms. Archer expressed appreciation for the donation.

She notes there are seven branch libraries across the island with friendly and courteous staff waiting to meet the needs of all Barbadians.

Ms. Archer notes 3 locations – Valley, St. George, Speightstown, St. Peter, and Holetown, St. James – are celebrating anniversaries this year and have collectively accumulated 246 years of service to the community.
