Continue efforts to diversify economy

While Barbados has been able to make significant gains in tourism in the wake of the devastation to the industry by the COVID-19 pandemic, a leading economist believes the country should still continue efforts to diversify the economy.

Head of the Caribbean Development Bank’s Economics Department, Ian Durant tells CBC News tourism will always be an important part of Barbados’ economic mix, but there are other areas of potential growth that can be simultaneously pursued.
