COVID-19 death toll now 560; 34 new cases recorded

A 90 year old man passed away from COVID-19 on Thursday, September 29th.

His death brings the toll from the virus to 560.

There were also 34 new COVID-19 cases recorded from the 323 tests conducted.

The cases consist of 11 people under the age of 18, and 23 who are 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 26, while 182 were in home isolation.

The laboratories conducted 765,701 tests since February 2020, and recorded 102,580 COVID-19 cases (46,401 males and 56,179 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of fully vaccinated people is 154,665 (57.1 per cent of the total population or 67.7 per cent of the eligible population).
