Work on agriculture, within the context of the “25 by 2025” food security agenda, is among the mission objectives of the CARICOM Private Sector Organisation (CPSO), as it prepares to formally relocate its headquarters to Barbados this week.
The agency, which was created in 2020, was established as an associate institution of the community at the 40th meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government.
It is looking to displace imports and provide for the region’s food security.
Technical director and chief executive officer, Dr. Patrick Antoine, says the region has a number of important infrastructure issues to address as the 2025 timeline nears.
He was a guest on CBC TV 8’s Morning Report.
Dr. Antoine believes that by working with governments, they can tackle the issue of transportation.
