Predictions of possible lays offs and business closures if the Barbados Light and Power Company is successful in its application for a rate increase.
That’s the view of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados.
Reacting to the ongoing rate hearing with the Fair Trading Commission which entered day three of deliberations yesterday, General Secretary, Dennis De Peiza is expressing concern about the impact of what would be another rise in the cost of living.
He affirms CTUSAB is giving its full backing to the case being put forward by the intervenors for the FTC to say no to the rate hike.
