Don’t panic!

December 29, 2022

Dr. Kirk Douglas says while there is no need to panic, against the background of a new surge of COVID-19 cases in China, Barbadians and others around the world still need to be cautious.

Dr. Douglas is the Director of the Centre for Biosecurity Studies at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, and he made the comments during an interview on CBC’s Morning Report today.

He says despite the lifting of the majority of COVID-19 restrictions in Barbados and in most other countries around the world, ultimately, everyone must take personal responsibility for their safety by following the most basic hygiene protocols.

He adds that Barbados and the Caribbean must move to a position of preparing more for different possibilities, rather than being reactive.
