Dr Sonia Browne says the decision to appoint her Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Wellness with responsibility for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is a progressive one by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
Three weeks into her new job, the family physician says the Health Ministry is one that needs extra help.
Dr Browne says she already has plans to tackle NCDs. She adds that addressing these diseases properly requires policy change.
