72 people – that’s 32 males and 40 females – tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, December 10th, when the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 1,204 tests.

Of the new cases, nine people are under the age of 18, and 63 are 18 years and older.

There were 292 people in isolation facilities, and 1,825 in home isolation.

The public health laboratory has carried out 450,060 tests since February last year, and recorded 26,740 cases (12,730 males and 14,010 females) of COVID-19.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of individuals with at least one dose is 154,444 (67.6 per cent of the eligible population).

The total number of people who are fully vaccinated is 139,726 (51.6 per cent of the total population or 61.2 per cent of the eligible population).

The eligible population represents those 12 years and older.
