Barbados is looking to diversify its tourism source markets, and officials are already working with partners in the Middle East to open traffic to Barbados from that region.
Minister of Tourism Senator Lisa Cummins made the revelation while addressing the first quarterly meeting of the Barbados Hotel And Tourism Association.
She says it will call for the pooling of resources of the BHTA and her Ministry.
According to Minister Cummins, the new efforts will include a focus on the African continent and talks are already taking place with industry partners there.
