Father of shooting victim speaks

Gun play in a Christ Church neighbourhood led to words no parent wants to hear…”Daddy be strong, Jamal gone”.

That was the chilling message Irwin “Bat” Clarke received this morning after his third son, 30-year-old Jamal Clarke was shot and killed in Silver Sands, Christ Church.

The concerned father said he received a call from another son and recounted the events of this morning to CBC News, metres away from where the shooting took place.

According to police records, eight murders have been recorded this year.
