Organisers of UNCTAD-15 were today putting the final touches on preparations, ahead of its start tomorrow.
UNCTAD or the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development will be hosted by Barbados from October 3rd to 7th.
When CBC visited the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre this morning, organisers were busy going through the paces.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held virtually, with LESC being used as one of two main production centres.
The other will be in Geneva.
UNCTAD 15 will officially be opened by United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres.
The opening ceremony will feature addresses by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta and UNCTAD Secretary-General, Rebeca Grynspan.
