Barbados could find itself in a similar Covid-19 situation as some Caribbean countries if it continues its current trajectory.
That stark warning from head of isolation facilities, Dr Corey Forde, during the public affairs programme, ‘One on One’.
Several Caribbean countries including St. Lucia and Grenada, have been experiencing a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases and deaths in recent weeks.
During the hour-long programme, Dr Forde revealed that Barbados recorded one of its first deliveries by a Covid-19 positive mother and says both the mother and baby are doing well.
He also confirmed that the Lester Vaughan, Queen’s College and Daryll Jordan schools are now being used as isolation facilities.
And Dr Forde has also disclosed that most patients in the Intensive Care Unit at Harrison’s Point are individuals considered to be in relatively good health.
The ‘One on One’ programme will be repeated tonight at 8 pm on CBC TV 8.
