Future of Barbadian film in good hands

The National Cultural Foundation believes the future of Barbados’ film is in good hands with today’s generation of filmmakers given the entries in the Film category of this year’s National Independence Festival of Creative Arts, NIFCA.

Film Commissioner, Annette Nias revealed officials were moved by the entries

The participants were recognized during a function at the Daphne Joseph Hackett Theatre.

They were advised to continue to follow their dreams and take advantage of available opportunities.

Among the winners, Josiah Haynes in the Narrative Fiction category, Jomario Goddard in the Music Video category, Penelope Hynam in the Documentary category and Joseph Atherley in the Film Challenge.

Chief Cultural Officer, Andrea Wells says the three key components for the 2022 NIFCA Film and Video were successfully completed.

Prize winner in the Narrative Fiction category Josiah Haynes, speaking on behalf of the participants, expressed thanks while noting opportunities like the competition are important for their development.
