Government facilitating US $25,000 in funding through UNDP to CYEN

A promise has been made to civil society organisations that Government will not renege on its commitment to promoting the agenda of the third sector in the interest of national development.

Minister of Labour, Social Security and the Third Sector, Colin Jordan gave reassurances in this regard, as he and officials from the United Nations Development Programme and Caribbean Youth Environment Network signed off on the commencement of the Third Study Session and Training Project organised by the CYEN.

The Government is facilitating US $25,000 in funding through the UNDP to the Environment Network.

Minister Jordan called on the CYEN to use the funds to sensitise the youth and others about the battles to be fought with reference to climate change.

He says civil society agencies like the network are critical in keeping Government accountable on such matters.
