Predictions of over a thousand cases of COVID-19 a day could already be a reality here in Barbados.
That’s the suggestion coming from the Executive Director of the Caribbean Public Health Agency, Dr. Joy St. John, saying it’s linked to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
She’s been analyzing recent COVID-19 predictions, with research showing Barbados could register anywhere between 1500 and 3500 new cases daily.
Dr. St. John admits she’s not aware of the local testing strategy, but believes scores of people have contracted COVID but remain untested.
