The health crisis facing Barbados’ children must be addressed with the school nutrition policy to curb the level of obesity and other non-communicable diseases.
The Barbados Childhood Obesity Prevention Coalition believes it is now critical to take the policy from paper to full blown practice in all the nation’s schools.
Morning Report spoke with Chairperson of the Coalition Dr. Kia Lewis about the situation.
Dr. Lewis says she wants to make it clear that it is not the intention of her organisation to put vendors out of work.
The medical practitioner pointed out that what they need is for the school vendors and canteen operators to be part of the training offered.
