While it’s still too early to say if Barbados has passed its peak in the current COVID-19 wave, health officials are seeing encouraging signs.
This is particularly so regarding what is referred to as the “R” number, which is the average number of people infected by a given COVID-19 positive individual.
According to Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kenneth George, it has been trending below one in recent days.
He made the revelation in response to a question about whether the country has passed the worst in the current surge of COVID-19 cases.
